Artist Statement:
Each canvas I undertake is an invitation to experiment with colour, texture, shapes and light in ways that involve the viewer. As a work develops, real or abstract elements are added or eliminated from the composition to support my artistic objective. Standard media such as oil and acrylic are combined with less conventional materials like metal filings, fibres or beach sand to arrive at the finished image. To me, art needn't conform to specific rules. New types of work require new and innovative methods. Over the years, this journey of discovery has broadened my creativity and sustained my love for painting.
